Why I Became a PT
Thought I’ll create a post on how and why I became a PT.
For those who don’t know, I wasn’t always a fitness professional. I graduated from university in finance and accounting and have been working in finance for almost 10 years, all the while passionate about fitness. While my professional experiences were vastly different, fitness was personal to me.
So how did I transition from an accountant to a PT?
My fitness journey started when I was around 18. I was a skinny kid who was sick of being called skinny, so I decided to hit the gym and bulk up. While I had no prior experience in fitness training or knowing the right thing to do, I instantly fell in love with the process. I made it my habit to exercise and it soon became my lifestyle.
Even though I made gains in my early years of training, they certainly weren’t optimal. I knew I needed to improve my technique and results. So I started researching and following people who knew what they were talking about. People like elite athletes, physiotherapists and personal trainers.
So not only did I love hitting the gym, I fell in love with learning about correct exercise techniques and the science behind training. I also discovered I wanted to share my passion and help people become healthier and better versions of themselves, and decided I needed to make a change to make that happen. So a few years ago I qualified as a PT and started my own business, Sena Coaching.
While my PT business is currently at a side hustle stage, my intentions are to make it huge and am on a personal mission to make more and more people fitter and healthier.
While there’s a lot more to talk about in this space, I thought it would be great to share my story, so it inspires you to not only get healthier but to follow your passion.
There’s a long road ahead for all of us so let’s keep at it!
